Clark International Airport Sets Up Vaccination Hub with Private Medical Groups 

Clark International Airport, in partnership with private medical institutions, is ready to serve as a vaccination site for Filipinos. With the airport’s newly built terminal which is set to be launched this month of July, selected areas in the old terminal were re-purposed and will be utilized for the much-needed mass vaccination roll-out in the country. 

Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD), operator and manager of Clark International Airport,  signed cooperation contracts with four medical groups for the conduct of vaccination at the old airport terminal last July 1. LIPAD serves as the facility manager for the vaccination process. 

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Medical Center, Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory, PRI Medical Center and the Medical City Clark are the medical partners. They have agreed to provide services to ensure that medical professionals will be present to administer the vaccines and to handle other issues such as medical waste disposal.

LIPAD administers crowd management and control at the vaccination site to ensure that vaccinees comply with protocols such as proper wearing of face masks and shields and the practice of social distancing. LIPAD personnel processes the vaccinees at the reception area upon presentation of their QR codes or patient IDs  for validation.

Signing the contract were LIPAD CEO Bi Yong Chungunco , COO Dr. Carmela Briones of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Medical Center, COO Dr. Mickey Gonzaga of the Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory, COO Dr. Pio Rafael Lim of the PRI Medical Center, and President and CEO Dr. Amario G. Jabson of The Medical City Clark, Inc.

In a statement, CEO Bi Yong Chungunco said, “Clark International Airport is committed to assist in the government’s drive to accelerate the vaccination roll-out in our country. The big and open spaces at the old terminal are appropriate for a vaccination site. LIPAD’s participation is among its contributions to curb the pandemic and to help fast track the revival of the economy and the travel industry.”

The LGU of Mabalacat, Angeles, Pampanga, through its City Health Office, is responsible for monitoring and supervising the CRK (Clark) Vaccination Center and for ensuring continuous compliance to set standards and guidelines. 

In coordination with Region 3 Department of Health and  Mabalacat, the Vaccine Handling and Cold Chain Management Training was conducted with the whole CRK Vaccination team.
